love 'emi'm very, very satisfied with my purchase: they were easy to install and look beautiful. the key to having a pleasant experience is utilizing all of the tools blinds.com makes available to you so that you can make an informed decision. i watched all of the videos i thought were relevant to my needs (e.g. videos on the various blind options, how to measure your window, etc) and posed a lot of questions to the customer service representative before i placed my order. once i place my order i received an e-mail with an electronic copy of the installation instructions. i read them carefully and when my blinds arrived, was able to install them with no trouble.February 6, 2009
New Kitchen! We completely remodeled our kitchen. The final touch were the new shades from Blinds.com! Great samples were mailed to help us pick the color. Super product! Fast shipments! Thanks for the wonderful products!December 6, 2006
Sucess at last! Our bay window faces east and the early morning sun was a real problem. We did not want a dark curtain; because when the sun is not shinning directly through the window we enjoy a sheer drape which gives us the advantage of a full view while providing a little privacy. We were anxious to get our blind and after opting for the free shipping (one to two weeks), it seemed silly to be waiting for the blind which would “hopefully” solve our morning sun glare dilemma. I tracked the shipping, and, on the delivery day, I counted the last few minutes waiting for the delivery truck. It was a few days ahead of the two week period and I was very happy about that. Our windows were washed and waiting for the installation to commence. Upon opening the package I was a little disappointed that the color was not “golden mushroom,” instead, it was sandstone. But, it seemed a very good color and I wondered if it was a replacement for golden mushroom or was just a mistake. I decided to go ahead and mount the blind. Our window is 92” wide which is a considerable span, by 47” high and I was concerned that the weight of such a wide span might make raising, lowering and leveling a problem. Following the directions I found we were short one mounting bracket, but I solved that by borrowing one from the set for a smaller window. I was happy that the brackets were very sturdy and the screws adequately long. I pre-drilled the screw holes with a very small drill bit which made driving those long screws a little easier. The brackets were installed quickly and the moment of truth was upon us. We hoisted the blind (1” Metal Valancia Delux) into place and snapped into the brackets. Then I lowered – leveled and adjusted it about mid-way down the window and took a step back. It looked great! It functioned very nicely and seemed a perfect match for our window trim and sheer curtains. The next morning, the sun was knocking but the blind was blocking. Bravo! Yes, I would recommend these to anyone whom needs a nice blind for a very reasonable price.April 19, 2013
Everything was great. The product works as I expected it to...was a little expensive, however, it was the only one online that I believed without seeing blocked out the light like I wanted. It took awhile for shipping, however, that was expected as that was stated when I ordered it....so not a problem. The only thing........and it's minor.......the first blind I opened, didn't have any instructions regarding the hardware and how to hang them. It took me awhile to figure it out. The SECOND one DID have instructions...........I didn't bother to look until I was actually installing the second one. My suggestion would be to put directions in each of the blind packages.I am extremely satisfied with the ease of ordering, the product itself and the service.August 4, 2006
One comment - This past May, we ordered 10 of your in-house deluxe metal blinds and instructions for the mounting brackets were only attached to one of the packages (in the last package I opened, of course). There is no diagram for this bracket on your site. I "stumped the band" when I called and asked for pointers. Fortunately, your rep pulled up the order (now several months old) and knew what they looked like. She was able to give me a clear description over the phone. I took another look, and was able to install all the blinds (10 sets) in an afternoon - LOVE the brackets! Anyway, to make this short - Those brackets are better than the conventional chintzy little metal boxes you have to attach to the ends of the others that use a square cross-section. I have fought with those in the past and was not looking forward to this installation. That's why I waited so long.......The boxes have to be really installed carefully, where yours (the L-shaped bracket) can go nearly anywhere w/minimal measuring and fussing about tolerances. Your in-house blinds work well and are of the same quality I have seen in "name brands". I was dubious when my wife said how much we'd paid for them. You have nothing to be ashamed of - 20 years ago, I was ready to throw a set of top-dollar Levolors out onto the front lawn, I was so fed up w/the fussy mounts and thin sheet metal.January 16, 2006
Scratched and Broken BracketThe blinds are attractive and pull up smoothly but there were several problems. The lever on one bracket is broken. One of the blinds was scratched and the ends do not fit properly on the headrails. The ends of the blind are plastic and look cheap. A tier curtain on top should hide the defects but I will have to order another bracket before I can install the second blind.January 19, 2012
TerribleThe color is not even remotely close to that of the site. The blinds are thin and cheap and don't compare to my hunter douglas. Do NOT buy this brand.November 4, 2008
metal blindsordered several and two had the headers damaged -September 29, 2011
I really like the blinds and how easily they workThe blinds are nice and the order was filled promptly. The only problem that I had was that the brackets were a little different than the ones shown on the instruction sheet. I had a problem getting the blinds to lock into the brackets and could not understand why the brackets were slightly different on the instruction sheet. I eventually determined that the head of the screw provided was too large to allow the blind to lock into place (In my situation, I had to put the screw to the top with the head of it facing down toward the blind). I replaced the provided screws with some flat head screws that I had on hand and the blinds locked into the brackets as they should.July 11, 2011
Perfect fit!Yes I had my doubts. Not the blinds but me with my luck I expected if anything would go wrong well you know how it goes.I ordered 5 mini blinds and I was a little slow and careful with the first. I did make the mistake on the second blind by putting the hanger right where it would interfere with the cord so I had to change it but by the time I got to the last it was a breeze. The directions were easy to follow and the length and width were perfect. I would definitely do it all over again in a heartbeat. It sure beats the mall in sub zero weather. The new blinds replaced old sagging vinyl blinds and they look great and it brightens the whole room up 100%January 9, 2010
Best Blinds Ever PurchasedThese blinds were the answer to my problem in our family room. We have a huge picture window that the sun came through and interfered with our entertainment center. I didn't want to hide my beautiful windows with curtains but had to do something in order to view our television without the glare. These blinds were not only beautiful but sealed out every bit of the brightest sunlight! The measurements were PERFECT and took me only a matter of minutes to install! I highly recomend these blinds and the customer service is excellent. I will definately be back for all my future blind puchases!April 19, 2010
Very Good Mini BlindsThese mini blinds met or exceeded my expectations in all categories but one: During shipment, the tilter rod in the header slipped out of the drive gear (on two of the four blinds), making the blinds un-adjustable. It was relatively easy to remove the end caps and re-insert the rod into the drive gear, but this could have been prevented by using a longer tilter rod that couldn't slip. Otherwise, the blinds were easy to install and look very nice. I am satisfied enough that today I am ordering another pair of mini blinds for the garage!November 17, 2006
Happy with my new brushed aluminum blindsI love the look of the brushed aluminum. I had a little problem understanding the installation instructions so I called customer service. They were VERY helpful and walked me thru the process. I highly recommend this company.November 28, 2013
averageBlinds are noticeably thinner than my previous set. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing yet, since thinner means lighter and less weight on the strings. They lack the ability to easily lock into position when they are 3/4 of the way down or more. Maybe because they are so light weight? I had 58" blinds and only got 2 support brackets, when the instructions said I need 3 for over 50" width. I would try another brand name before I would purchase these again. Overall, I find these not a good value considering the quality and price point.February 10, 2013
Not what I expectedYour blinds are definitely a low grade blind. The louvers are very very thin and fragile! They did install very easily, but everything about them tells me you get what what you pay for. Your customer service dept was very polite and helpfull when they had to resend another order due to wrong size. When I received the correct size the one blind was not working right and I had to take parts off the old blind to fix!. I will definitely order from a major manufacturer next time. I do like the color though.Sorry not a returning customerDecember 29, 2012
Over all summaryI had replaced/upgraded 15 windows during my recent remodel. I had heard a Blinds Dot Com radio commercial on Glenn beck’s program and thought I would give them a try with a one window order. I was so impressed with the ease of order, the quickness of shipping, the perfect fit, the quality of their cordless 1” blinds, coupled with fantastic prices…that I ordered the other 14. Blinds Dot Com is one company that I would recommend to anybody, even my friends that went to “SC”.August 18, 2013
Get a professional installerI am not handy, maybe that's the problem, but also I was not aware of, nor informed that I could not use my existing blind brackets to hold the blinds.com blinds. It was an effort to remove old brackets and install the special brackets for the new blinds - which involved ruining my recent paint job and tearing out pieces of wood. Not fun. The illustrations that are sent w/the order are not that helpful as the pictures do not properly demonstrate how the brackets should align w/the windows & frame.April 1, 2010
Poor qualityPoor quality. Slats feel like plastic and they are as thin as paper. The top slats were bent from the string clips at the factory. Blinds not cut evenly, top slat does not fit between head rail end caps so it bends. Valance ends do not fit head rail and fall out plus they hang well below the head rail and interfere with the operation of the blind.I would not buy these again. Very dissapointed and a big departure from the quality I have received from this vendor in the past.September 2, 2010
The bestI have now ordered 3 blinds, one wooden, two aluminum. They are great, easy to install and look great. I kick myself every time I go in a room because they look so good, and I wonder why I ever waited so long to order them. They fit perfectly. They are all inside mounts and based on the measurements I supplied, they were made to fit right inside the window.I could not be happier and in the future that is where I will order my blinds.February 18, 2013
