Summer 2013 Marketing + PR Internship

Hiring a super hero college student intern for the marketing team's Houston, TX office!

Calling all super-powered college students! We're seeking a heroic, smart, engaged summer intern to support, create and have fun with the marketing team — secret identity is optional.

What will you be doing once you don your cape? Utilizing superhuman speed and feats of heroic strength, your job will be to support our PR, website development and Search Engine Marketing teams while growing your brain, marketing muscles and resume-friendly experience in a big way.

We are a Social Media and home decor-loving marketing Batman looking for our Robin!

Learn new crime-fighting skills from the team that has won the Marketer of the Year Award from the Houston AMA and a company that has continuously been recognized nationally and internationally as a Best Place to Work.

You will work hard, learn a LOT and have a swell time with the crew. And unlike most superhero gigs, this one is paid.

Superhero Duties:

  • Website and blog content writing
  • Social Media support — research, commenting, sharing and more on Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter!
  • Link building and optimization projects
  • Content and video creation, research and optimization
  • Press release and media exposure projects
  • PPC and SEO team support
  • Coffee, cupcake and craft supply fetching for the Justice League (our Marketing team)

Requirements and Skills:

  • A sophomore or junior in college with interest in marketing or communications
  • Experience in and passion for Social Media
  • Curiosity and a desire to be awesome
  • BONUS!! Love of DIY culture and / or interior design
  • Solid Web and computer experience (Web searching, Microsoft tools, email)
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Desire to continuously improve yourself and others
  • Willingness to try new things (ever leaped a tall building in a single bound?)
