Or use the room-darkening fabric (the top of it is mounted to the bottom of the top sheer fabric), which is not only quite effective at blocking light and giving you absolute privacy, but also at insulating. Now here's how you get the best of both worlds - raise the bottom opaque shade half-way up your window, leaving the sheer fabric to cover the top half. That way you get privacy and still be able to see out through the truly sheer honeycomb fabric. The opaque fabrics are backed by white for a uniform appearance on your home's exterior. An occasional vacuuming is all that's needed to keep your shades looking fresh. Duette's soft, flexible nature allows the shades to stack compactly when raised, so they virtually disappear.
