All Sheerweaves roller shades come standard with a continuous loop clutch mechanism for easy control. This system raises and lowers the sun shades smoothly and evenly for trouble-free performance. No more long, dangling cords or frustrating cord locks or cleats. The spring roller option is also available at no charge. You can also have the fabric reversed so the fabric will roll from the front of the roller instead of the back. This option is used most often to bypass anything which might have otherwise been obstructed by the fabric. On inside mount roller shades the fabric will be 1 1/2" narrower than the ordered measurement. This allows space for the shade to operate properly and is true on all brands of roller shades. You may compensate for this by adding to your width measurement and opting for an outside mount. The right hand holder drops the shade down about a quarter of inch fro the left. So with mounting, the right hand holder should be moved up a quarter of an inch from the left holder. If you level them both, the shade will drop down on the left side. This should be noted in your mounting instructions." So it was a little scary to order these blinds; yet the price was half the price through Blinds.com compared with in town prices. So, we checked it out. One of my concerns with ordering was that I could not tell by the picture the color of the blinds. I really didn't want to wait for a sample to come by mail and then order, so I took a chance and ordered. The color was not what I expected so that scared me, but when we installed it, I was thrilled! It looks and works great. I would recomend it to anyone. I wish I had this years ago. We have been doing with out a blind on a very large piture window for over 20 years. I love it and I am glad I got the color I did. I can't remember the name of the color but it is a nutral off white or cream. It is perfect! But installing these blinds into studs using flat head screws seems unnecessarily difficult to do. Why not just include philips head screws like the rest of the world uses. I couldn't figure out how to get the flat heads into the studs, they just kept stripping. After a while i went to home depot and grabbed some real screws." I had trouble at first with a pull chain for shades which did not come with a clear illustration. I called twice for help with this, but could not understand the directions without a picture. Furthermore, I have been WAITING two weeks now for a response from Pfifer regarding a blind that was not properly resized to allow for hardware clearance. That's the only reason I rated the "ease" of installation." They arrived quickly, were exactly the right size and were very easy to install. They appear rather sheer from inside the room, (and would allow someone to see into a lighted room from the outside at night) but they work very well to cut down on the heat of the afternoon sun coming in through a sliding glass door, which was what I wanted. Previously, I had very expensive solid PVC vertical blinds, which really cut out the light but let the heat through. I am extremely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend them." The color is not exactly what I expected, but they still look great. I ordered a slate grey, and it was more of a beige color with grey flecks. They do a good job of filtering the sun; it's darker than a cloudy day when they are all pulled (I put one in every window in my house). The chain tensioner brackets feel a bit flimsy but they still open fine. I would definitely order these blinds again." I wanted to just use a blind with a topper and now I have to get curtains which defeats the whole purpose of me getting the blind."
