StretchingThe natural elasticity of yarns combined with the weight of the natural woven material may cause shades to stretch upwards to 1" to 1 1/2" after installation. This is particularly noticeable on inside mount shades or shades that extend from ceiling to floor. Ordering the shade shorter than needed will help compensate for stretching over time, however will be short when installed. Note that the addition of edge binding will not only add a truly personal decorative touch, but will also help control the stretching. This product complies with CPSC child safety guidelines. If you have children in your home on a regular basis, CPSC recommends the use of cordless window coverings. Quality and the price could not be matched once you factored in the 4 that would have a been custom order. What I saved I was able to get them trimmed and lined and still was less the box store. From order to receipt is was less than 10 days. I am a very happy customer." Last year we ordered Bali woven shades from one of the big home stores and it cost us over $600 for 3 blinds. We recently moved and have to get 4 blinds for french doors with side windows. I ordered the economy blinds with the seam bindings. I was a little anxious at the quality of the blinds and if they would be as I measured them. My order arrived in less than 2 weeks. When I opened them, I was surprised at the great quality and workmanship of the blinds! These blinds were actually nicer than the Bali blinds we previously had but it was only 1/3 of the cost. Installation was so easy. I can't get over how much money we saved but how good quality they are." They came super fast (considering they were shipped directly from the factory in China), they were labeled for the rooms correctly, the instructions were easy to follow and they look great. Customer Service did a great job communicating with me - I had ordered blackout liners that were supposed to be white on the street side and that was not available from the factory. They gave me the choice of waiting or accepting a tan color. I decided not to wait and the actual color was ecru or off white not tan. It turned out better than I expected. The continuous draw cords operate the blinds a lot slower than expected. The fit was perfect on all four windows. The blackout liners work well. Overall I am very happy and will purchase from Blinds.com again." These blinds look great. I went with the Penang Brown and got the large border edge in chocolate. They look beautiful--just like the ones at Ethan Allen for 1/4 of the price! Got the privacy liner, too. They are a perfect fit in my windows, and installed relatively easily. Had some difficulty with the first one, because one side was not notched as long as the other. But, I just used my drill and made it a little bigger and . . . VOILA! You can see the wood used to mount them a little on the sides. However, this would only be an issue if you choose an outside mount, or if your windows are not as deep as they should be (need to be over 1" to hide the mounting mechanism). But, since I plan to make cornices for my windows anyway, this doesn't bother me. I can't wait to order more of these blinds for my newly renovated kitchen!" We had just finished a major (budget-busting) kitchen remodel and window coverings were our last purchase. We wanted something to compliment the remodel, but not break the bank. These are perfect. In fact, even if we had bookoo bucks to spend, I'd still want them. The blinds are fairly lightweight, which is perfect for our 2nd story windows. "Casual elegance" is how I'd describe the look. They offer just enough privacy but still allow some light to come through. I took the advice of 2 other reviewers and: 1- I got the side binding, which finished the edges off nicely. I'm very glad I paid the little bit extra for it. 2- I added 7 inches to the length so it doesn't, as the other reviewer said, look like a bathmat. The extra 7 inches gives them a bit of a roll at the bottom, which I think looks better. The size was exact, and installation was easy enough for my husband to do in about an hour (I'm sure I could have done it myself-- the directions are simple-- but I knew he could do it quicker). I'm very happy with the product and the delivery time.
