We Recommend:

  • Upgrade your control options: get cordless and motorized control at a lower price than any other blackout shade on our site.

With the reassurance of the Blinds.com Warranty, you can trust that this product will last and provide added value and beauty to your home.

    Safety:

This product complies with CPSC child safety guidelines. If you have children in your home on a regular basis, CPSC recommends the use of cordless window coverings.

Almost rightThe blinds are good quality, not great, but good. I think the black out is effective but since the sizing is wrong I can't tell for sure. The website says to subtract 1/4 inch from your measurements when ordering. However, they then take an additional 1/4 inch off. Now the blinds have a 1/4 inch gap all the way around, including the bottom and light filters in. Compared to what I would pay with a private vendor I am still happy I went with blinds.com. Irecommend just ordering one blind at first to see how they do their cuts bc now I have 5 ill fitting blinds.November 1, 2014
Economy Blackout Cellular ShadeGreat durable blinds, instructions are easy read and to install and the up and down movement of the shade doesn't require the snap-on shade holders.I would recommend measuring the window exact and ordering them to the exact width. Inside window mounts slightly lets light in from the sides. Great for sleeping in bedrooms. The individual blinds are labeled as you label your order. When I pulled them out of the box I read the label and placed each blind in the corresponding room/window.Easy to clean; I recommend a feather duster to clean them and a damp rag to wipe the tops of the blinds that adjust top-down, bottom-up. The magnet strip on the top-down, bottom-u mounted rail runs all the way across, open all the way up then pull down for a good close.I had blinds for 15 years and I highly recommend cordless, blackout cellular shades. Easy to install, maintain, clean and look professional. I'll never go back to blinds, each blind had to be removed to clean in a bathtub, dry, and hang back up. 25 blinds later for 15 years cleaned twice to three times a year, no thanks. Cellular Shades are excellent.September 7, 2014
Very PleasedI purchased the cordless version of these blinds for a new back door that has a half window in it. I did not want something heavy that would be slamming around when the door was opened or closed, plus I did not want to have to unclip something from the bottom to raise and lower the shades since I do this daily. These blinds have been perfect! They "fade into the background" when open, which is just what I was looking for. I raise them every morning so that I can get some light into my small apartment. Every night, I pull them down for privacy and also for a blackout effect since my daughter's crib is currently in this room, and we often have guests stay on an air mattress on the floor. My only difficulty was installing them on a metal door, since I forgot to tell Blinds.com that my door was metal and not wood. I had to buy some self-tapping screws and pre-drill starter holes. Once that was done, the blinds went on quite easily.Customer service has also been phenomenal, with instructions on how to install, sizing advice, people going to measure the depth of the shade so I would know if it was going to bump into the doorknob, photos taken so that I would know how to install the pull-down tab, etc. Truly, one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. I am very pleased with these shades and with Blinds.com!June 21, 2014
Always goodI love these shades! Keeps the cold out and the heat out in summer. Easy to install and easy to use.March 1, 2015
Nap Game ChangerAfter trying just about every cheap alternative to darken my son's nursery, including boarding up my son's windows with cardboard boxes (for shame), I finally decided to just bite the bullet and get a real solution. At first I thought $170 for blinds was expensive, but after some research and price comparisons, these were actually a pretty good bargain. My husband installed the blinds in about 30 min. The amazing thing about my experience here is that I mismeasured our window (oops) and when the blinds came, they did not fit. I was only off by 1/4 of an inch, so although I know other reviewers have said to add 1/4 inch to overall measurement to avoid gaps on the sides, I would recommend against this! Blinds.com sent me new blinds without any question or hassle because of the SureFit Guarantee. That is really awesome. I got the "cotton" white blinds for my son's 71x60 windows and was surprised by how good they looked in his room! I pretty much always keep the blinds down so I can't say much about how well the cord works (though it seems to work pretty smoothly with minimal use). His room is very dark now even during the sunny hours of the day. Subtle beams of light do shine in through the very top of the window and on the sides. I actually have some decorative curtains over the blinds that pretty much cover the side beams, and the top beam is minimal and doesn't seem to affect my son's sleeping. When I walk into his room to get him up from his nap, sometimes I have to fumble around to get to his crib. So it's pretty dark in there. We'll see how they do over time but I'm Very happy with my purchase and would recommend/would buy in the future!February 23, 2015
Who needs a GuarenteeDidn't think much of the guarantee until i tried to hang my blinds and discovered i had switched my length and width dimensions. Had the replacements before my wife found out about my mistake.Hanging system is very slick and quick.February 27, 2015
mounting brackets allow light all around edgesThe mounting brackets hold the shades out far enough so that light shines in all around the edges of the glass. These were intended to replace vinyl mini blinds on glass double doors. We're keeping the shades which are a good quality product, but we're working on a way to mount them so that they can hang smack up against the glass frames. Obviously these could not be mounted inside the glass frames. But we were dismayed to see how far away from the door surface (or wall in that case,) the mounting brackets hold the shades. That is the only reason I'm not recommending these shades and give overall two stars. Far too much light allowed in to brighten up the room, much more effective light than the flimsy mini blinds we got rid of.February 23, 2015
PerfectThis did exactly what I wanted it to do.My only complaint is that the directions warn you against using mounting holes in the brackets that, in fact, I used, and were fine. Otherwise, v. happy.February 24, 2015
Great blindWe have other blinds we ordered but couldn't get the exact fit. My wife has trouble sleeping with light filtering in. We are extremely happy with this new blind. She has been getting a good sleep. They made it to my exact measurements. It was so easy to install. Thank you.February 23, 2015
Disappointed with qualityWhen we first moved into our new house we bought a Bali shade for one room and were very pleased with the quality. When we decided it was time to put shades in the other rooms I decided to try to get something a little more affordable. Well, you get what you pay for I guess. While these shades look fairly nice, you can feel the difference in quality whenever you lower/raise them. And one of the plastic cord thingies came broken. I have more rooms to buy shades for and I will go back to the Bali shades instead.March 6, 2013
Excellent value-- and exceptional shades! These shades rock! They're functional and beautiful, and I couldn't be happier with them. Also-- I couldn't be happier with Blinds.com-- their customer service is incredible. It's what keeps me coming back... and back... and back...February 19, 2015
Love my black out blindsWe purchased one set of blinds to check on the quality of the product and the company's service. We rate the whole experience 5 stars except delivery. it took awhile to receive them. I think this was partly due to the snow storm in New York but still - I think they should have provided a better expectation up front about the wait time. With that said, the service was great - we received an email with installation instructions right after we ordered them which was nice. Also the quality is very high. Will be ordering more from this company.February 16, 2015
Blackout blissOur son recommended this specific blind to us since he, a night shift worker, had installed them in his own home. I did extensive internet research and priced other blinds and these were the most economical for the large, oddly sized windows in our house. I selected the cocoa color and was pleased to discover that it not only darkened the bedroom totally, but attractively accented the new decor and hardwood floors. We are truly impressed by the excellent fit and superb room darkening power of these blinds. Easy to install, they fit the window frame opening perfectly. Although there is a slight gap at each side of the blind (necessary for the blind to be raised and lowered) it allows very little light into the room. I am now considering having these installed at our Arizona condo to replace mini-blinds in the bedrooms and kitchen. Thank you for an outstanding product at an affordable price!.August 24, 2014
bad no cord shadesThe corded shades were fine, but DO NOT pay $35.00 extra for the no cord shade. They were very cheap and not constructed well.April 2, 2013
Instructions are terrible. Make sure you don't drill clips on very end of your window for an inside mount.February 14, 2015
Good blinds, bad string mounts.I am happy with the service I have received, but of the perhaps dozen blinds I have bought, I have already had to replace parts on three. I'm mechanically inclined,so as long as you send parts its no big deal. But what if my wife had bought them? or my mother in law, neither of them, or most women I know could make the repairs. So they would have to live with defective blinds, unless ya'll send totally new blinds. And regardless its a hassle. All you have to do is to make the plastic parts marginally better. You have spent at least an extra $20 shipping things to me. If I charged you at my standard rate for making the repairs, it would be about three hundred dollars. All this for not spending an extra 50 cent for better plastic parts. The 50 cent saving you are making is costing you 20 dollars and me 300. See the problem?October 6, 2013
Shipping timeThis product was produced very quickly. However, from the time that I was notified that item was in transit to when I received it, I could have driven cross country to pick it up and returned to my home. And no there were not any weather related issues. This is my reason for the 4 star rating rather than 5.The price was very good and it is a nice looking item.February 3, 2015
Could be improvedThe blinds look nice and were easy to install. Unfortunately, they barely reach the window sill. We gave an exact measurement but no extra was added although it is needed. Also the plastic handle that is to be attached, flops off easily. Without the handle, you could eventually wear a hole through the material which feels like paper. I had to superglu the handle to make it stay. Overall, the quality is definitely lacking.December 8, 2014
great economical blindsThese were super easy to install, were just as advertised and arrived in durable good packaging.I ordered custom sizing so they came from overseas, when I saw the tracking info was stagnant I emailed and got a prompt reply that they were indeed on the way and would show up when they passed customs.these are the discount blinds, they're bulkier than more expensive ones but you can't beat the price. Our room is dark as a dungeon now.I had one thing I thought was a problem, one side would sag when I pushed them up (i got cordless), but then i realized if you push the blind all the way up and hold it for a second it stays up and not saggy.April 2, 2013
Good ValueI bought the Blinds.com product instead of the Bali that I installed a few years ago. I think the Bali are a little heavier however I had a problem with their cordless mechanism so decided to try Blinds.com. The new ones installed easily and I like the mounting mechanism. The blinds look great although don't feel as sturdy as the Bali. The down movement is tight but may loosen in time. The up is as light as a feather. The plastic thumb grips are not easy to grip and don't feel as easy to hold as the Bali.Time will tell if I made a good decision but so far very satisfied.August 23, 2014
