Although Bryn Alexandra originally started out in Advertising, it’s evident that her destiny was to become an interior designer.

I recently stumbled across her blog and I was blown away by her work! I love how delicate and chic her style is, she achieves a clean and crisp look without it seeming dull or unoriginal.

She’s so great that some of her room designs were featured in HGTV magazine:

If this isn’t enough reason to make you fall in love with Bryn – I’ve got more evidence proving her genius. She came up with what was in my opinion, an extremely creative idea: the white box challenge.

Bryn gifted three of her favorite bloggers with this lucite box from Joy & Revelry and asked them to incorporate the box into a room the way they saw best fit.

This is what they came up with:

Jewelry Holder

Lauren Liess Whitebox Challenge

Lauren Liess’ White Box Challenge

Bookshelf Decor

Chassity White Box Challenge

Chassity’s White Box Challenge

TV Remote Holder

Stefanie White Box Challenge

I saw this as a wonderful way to encourage thought about functionality. All of the bloggers came up with different uses for the same white box. Lauren Liess used it as a decorative element on top of an antique dresser to hold jewelry. Chassity from Look Linger Love placed the box among other knick-knacks on her bookshelf. Stefanie from Brooklyn Limestone used the box as a chic place to store her TV remotes in the living room.

I thought this experiment of Bryn’s was an awesome way to show how many uses the same item can have – to me it captures the spirit of redesign. Without spending huge amounts of money you can repurpose items you have for an entirely new look and function! Tell us your ideas about the white box challenge and how you might have styled this gorgeous box!
