Insulate Windows Without Losing Light on As Mom Sees It

One of our blogger friends, Dusty is a mom of two and shares tips, tricks and the best products for families on the go at As Mom Sees It.

Her Ohio home was equipped with energy efficient curtains that kept things cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. However, getting the full insulation out of heavy curtains requires blocking out light, and with window AC units in for summer she couldn’t close them at all.

Window Insulation With Versatility

Dusty decided to switch from these bulky, hard to handle curtains to light filtering cellular shades that insulate against heat and cold while allowing soft natural light in. She can also now keep the window insulated when the AC unit is installed and allow less energy loss.

I installed them myself and it took under half an hour

The Blinds.com Brand Economy 3/8” Double Cell Light Filtering Shades in Biscuit have made her space lighter, brighter and were an affordable upgrade for her rental space. She close an inside mount for a more custom, tailored look and layered sheer panels on top to soften the look.
