Blogger Shannon Fox of Fox Hollow Cottage is the queen of cozy, neutral cottage décor. You may recognize her name from her previous projects with us, including her living room which is outfitted with Norman Woodlore Shutters.

Shannon lives in a cottage nestled along the Oregon Coast and she's is constantly tweaking her home's décor with little inexpensive makeovers.

Outdated Bathroom Goes Coastal Fresh

Shannon had given much of the rest of the house her signature touch, but it was time that the bathroom got some love. It was dark and full of outdated finishes that stood in stark contrast to the stylish, serene aesthetic that Shannon had created for the rest of the house.

With this blank slate ready to be made over, she decided to branch out of her signature neutral palette and go bold with navy walls. The space couldn't have turned out better and ties in perfectly with the coastal-cottage theme she has woven across her property.

Shannon gave the bathroom a face lift without embarking on a major renovation or blowing the budget. She painted the existing laminate countertop, painted the cream colored bathtub white and covered the gaudy gold shower with curtains rather than ripping it out. Coastal Window Style with Woven Wood Shades

The windows got a lovely dose of texture and nautical style with Levolor Natural Woven Wood Shades from Blinds.com.

She selected the burlap-like Sisal Twist Banana Leaf Fabric and gave the windows extra versatility with a Top Down Bottom Up Lift.

To finish the look she added her signature vintage touches like an antique mantle hung over the bathtub, tin lights and hanging lanterns.
