Simple and Soothing Portland Guest Room
The owners saw cozy potential in the nook-like guest room and knew they wanted the space to look bright and feel inviting. They started with a coat of bright white paint. They got rid of the inflatable mattress and replaced it with a real mattress.
The next step was to upgrade the mini blinds with something that added to the fresh atmosphere in the room.
We wanted something clean and simple that would help block the sunlight, keeping the room cool during the day and providing some privacy. My whole adult life, I’ve lived in rented spaces with crummy contractor-grade plastic mini blinds, which I’ve grown totally sick of. So, as homeowners that can actually invest in something for the long haul, we wanted some high-quality shades that would keep the lines of the room nice and simple.
We chose the Designer Roman Shades from Blinds.com, in Bellevue Cotton. They’re custom made to fit into our windows perfectly, feature a cordless design that’s super easy to raise and lower, and they look great whether up or down. Couldn’t be happier.
The new roman shades radiate bright light in the entire room. Vintage decor in bold colors and lively plants work well against the white backdrop of the room transforming the room into a welcoming space.
