Accounting Specialist

Ahoy, mateys!

The Pirates on the isle of Accounting are looking to add to their team. They have their spyglass out and are searching the high seas for an Accounting Specialist to help record keep for the treasury department. This Buccaneer will possess essential skills to run the basic operations of all activities and properly record transactions. This individual will ‘HEAVE HO’ in receiving and recording all cash activity to assist with the month end preparation and cash tracking. The Specialist will guard the company‚Äôs loot by researching and finding the best prices for office supplies, travel and other recurring company expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, reconcile and record daily credit card deposits into Great Plains
  • Receive checks, make copies and assign to customer accounts
  • Research prices vs. points for all company travel
  • Make all company travel reservations
  • Look for bargains/deals for company supplies, travel, lunches
  • Back up for processing daily credits & credit research
  • Order office supplies

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Hold an Associates or some college in Accounting
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic to intermediary skills in Outlook and Excel
  • Knowledge and experience with Credit Card Points/Rewards
  • Flexible/Adaptable; strong ability to solve problems

Working Environment

The office environment is general with primary responsibilities being clerical/administrative. At times, the position can become physical by lifting 15+ lbs., pulling, packing, sorting, etc. The working environment is generally favorable with lighting and temperature adequate with no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Overall, this position is sedentary in nature. This individual will be seated in a cubicle environment for most of the time. Work is generally performed in the office environment, with standard office equipment.
