Loving the all-neutral farmhouse look, but feel like your home is missing something?
Don't get us wrong, we love a clean gray and white palette as much as the next person, but sometimes all those neutrals feel a little flat. You'll notice that designers combat this problem by adding rich textures like chunky woven art, distressed wood and, in today's case, bamboo shades.
We have to admit that the "before" in this case far exceeds many of our "after"s. April's space was stunning before her update, but we love the extra punch that the woven wood shades bring.

Woven Wood Shades for a Modern Farmhouse Kitchen
In her newly remodeled kitchen, April knew that Bamboo Blinds were the next step toward a "finished" look.
"With all of the white and gray in the kitchen and eating area, I knew that some bamboo blinds would add the texture and warmth that this space really needed."
With help from her husband, installing the shades only took a few minutes. No professional needed!
"It was as easy as just snapping the two connectors on either side of the headrail to the two brackets that Mr. Hoff mounted on the window frame."
Besides bringing texture and visual interest to the room, the variegated bamboo shades serve another purpose. The combination of wood tones tie together lighter wood furniture and dark floors for a unified look.
When choosing the blinds, I considered a couple of things. 1) The color of the wood décor and accents in my home, and 2) The color of the wood floor. I wanted something that would pull it all together and incorporate all of the wood tones in this space.
April opted for a valance, which gives her shades a finished look when they're fully raised.
