( 4 windows) Took a while to figure out the installation, and then everything went up as planned. We mounted to the ceiling, so it was like an inside mount. It took us two afternoons to get them up, but they look nice and function as we expected. if you want the floor to ceiling look follow the inside mount directions and hang from the ceiling instead of the inside of the window frame or the wall." Since I already had some experience with putting up blinds it didn't take long to figure out but for a newbie, it might be challenging to figure out. I bought mine without the top valance and they look sleek and modern. There were errors in my order though. I ordered them to open from the middle but the open from right to left and the we had to use other screws to fasten the brackets because the ones that came with the blinds fell right through the holes." I should of went with the five teer but after removing all from the box was too much to return. Directions were very difficult to follow and the valance was not worth the purchase. Valance keeps coming out and falling down when opening and closing the panels. Would recomend the panels for overall look but company needs to work on diretions for easier installation. Large sliding panels, 3 for a patio door. Looks a lot better than the standard vertical blinds. Light filtering only - they won't darken the room. You'll still be able to see what is going on outside (like through a filter) and people may be able to see in at night (blurred) - maybe quite well if you have bright lights in the room. But, I don't think that this will be a problem for most people. Be sure to get a sample first and see for yourself. The installation instructions are BAD. They don't apply to this product but to a similar product. They are incomplete, for example there is no text to accompany one or two of the illustrations and one of the steps doesn't even apply. But, I figured it out so you probably can too. Also, the instructions don't say how high the outside mount brackets should be placed above the floor. You'll have to figure it out yourself. Also, the installation instructions are not sharp and clear - both the ones supplied and the download version. Am I happy with them - yes. However, we've had vertical blinds before, and I think that anyone who has ever had them knows how much of a pain they can be. Besides, this isn't 1984. So, we gave it a shot knowing if we didn't like the Sheerweave Panels, we could send them back. As it turns out, they're perfect. They match our Rollershade window blinds, they open and close with very little effort, the installation couldn't have been easier, and best of all, they're NOT vertical blinds.
