"Our Blinds.com Signature roller shades are mounted, and we’re very pleased with them. The shades (cassette style) appear strong and well-made, and operate easily and well. The Lumen White fabric has a more dressy look than the typical solar fabric, a nice “glow” to keep the room bright during the day, and limited transparency. You can see if anybody is lurking around outside during the day, but this fabric isn't transparent enough to provide a real view outside, if that's what you're looking for.
I mounted the shades myself (amateur handyman; "outside-mount"), and had no major problems – with fascia built into the cassette structure, mounting was conceptually a snap. For wider shades using more than two brackets, it is important that all brackets line up with each other, so take care in your measuring and drilling for bracket mounting. It may take you a few tries to “ooch” the shades up into their brackets, but it's not hard when you get the hang of it (hook top of shade into brackets, then push UP while pushing back). I really like the cassette structure, for how easy it makes mounting, for the added strength it gives the shade, and for the clean, integrated, modern look.
The only weakness was the instructions, which were non-existent. The online instruction video shows a completely different mounting arrangement than these shades use. So I can’t recommend these shades for installation by a person without basic handyman skills. I'd have given 5-stars across the board if decent instructions had been provided."
