Sturdy construction, with each shade mounted on a solid wood headrail. A 6" valance is included at no additional charge. StretchingThe natural elasticity of yarns combined with the weight of the natural woven material may cause shades to stretch upwards to 1" to 1 1/2" after installation. This is particularly noticeable on inside mount shades or shades that extend from ceiling to floor. Ordering the shade shorter than needed will help compensate for stretching over time, however will be short when installed. Note that the addition of edge binding will not only add a truly personal decorative touch, but will also help control the stretching. I have been very pleased with each order. The blinds are attractive and very well built, plus I've easily installed them all by myself (no need to wait for hubby to help me). I'm looking to make the largest order yet, for my great room with gads of windows--and can't help but think I'm going to order a pattern from these great woven shades! The pictures are my basement family room, and although it may be hard to tell, the shades allow a nice amount of filtered sunlight to come through." I've installed many blinds in the past and these were by far the easiest. My cat pulled one of the strings on the back and untied it. All I had to do to fix it was tie it again at the right length (which was a little tricky, but not too hard). The only complaint I have is that the volume of the folds on one blind is slightly different than the other, but most people would never notice."
