Parts List & Definitions

Please see below for descriptions and pictures of common blinds parts. Remember that your required part may look slightly different than those pictured here.

Valance Clips

Valance clips are used to attach the valance to the blind headrail. For certain valances, such as an inside mounted vertical blind dust cover valance, valance clips are not needed. If your valance clips continue to break, many customers find that attaching small magnets to the valance with hot glue can keep it in place.

Hold Down Brackets

Hold down brackets are used to hold the bottom of the blind in place, mostly used for blinds mounted on doors.

Extension Brackets

Extension brackets are used to project a shade or blind from the wall.

Spacer Blocks

Spacer blocks are used to project a blind or shade away from the wall, primarily used on wood and faux wood blinds.

Mounting Brackets

Mounting brackets are used to attach the blind to the window, wall or door.

Cord Cleat

A cord cleat is used to wrap the excess cord when the shade is raised.

Tassel

A tassel is the knob at the bottom end of a cord.

Cord Joiner

The cord joiner is the plastic piece that has multiple cords coming into the top of it and one cord coming out of the bottom.

Tilt Wand

The tilt wand is used to tilt horizontal blinds up and down.

Valance

The valance is the decorative piece that covers the top portion of the blind.
