How to Install Inside Mount Vertical Blinds

How to Install Inside Mount Vertical Blinds

If you measured for inside mount vertical blinds, follow these simple installation steps:

  1. Position your valance so it is facing the room and aligned with the window edge, and set your bracket clips 3 inches in from the left and right edges.
  2. Use your bracket clips as templates to mark starter holes for the screws. To make it easier to fasten your screws through the valance, create starter holes by tapping a screw with a hammer or using a drill bit where your mounting screws will be inserted.
  3. Mark where your screws will go by lightly tapping starter holes through the top slot of the bracket. Fasten the supplied screws through the valance and into the mounting surface for each bracket.
  4. Hook the front of your head rail into the brackets and rotate back until it snaps into place.
  5. To install the vanes or louvers, start by pulling the cord so that the vane stems are evenly spaced. Pull the cord to rotate the openings of the stems so they are facing you.
  6. Attach the first vane or louver by gently sliding it up into the plastic stem until it snaps into place. Repeat this process until all vanes are attached.
  7. Install your safety bracket to keep the cord or chain taut. Place the bracket near the outside bottom of the window frame where it will not interfere with the operation of your vertical blinds.
  8. Test your vertical blinds by pulling down on the cord to open or close and blinds. Pull the beaded chain to rotate your blinds.

How to Install Outside Mount Vertical Blinds

How to Install Outside Mount Vertical Blinds

If you measured for outside mount vertical blinds, follow these simple installation steps:

  1. From the point at the bottom of your window where your blinds will hang, measure up to the top of your window the length of the blinds you have ordered. Make a mark at the top of the measurement and center your head rail on the mark.
  2. Use a pencil to make a mark 3 inches in from each end of the headrail.
  3. Align the top of your left bracket along the inside of the pencil line and fasten to the wall with the supplied screws. Repeat on the right side, as well as for any additional brackets. Make sure the brackets are aligned and level.
  4. Hook the front of your head rail into the brackets and push up on the backside until it snaps into place.
  5. To install the vanes or louvers, pull the cord to space the vane stems evenly, then use the chain to rotate until the openings are facing you.
  6. Attach the first vane by gently sliding it up into the plastic stem until it snaps into place. Repeat this process until all vanes are attached.
  7. Install your safety bracket to keep the cord or chain taut. Place the bracket near the outside bottom of the window frame where it will not interfere with the operation of your vertical blinds.
  8. Insert the valance ends into the corners of the valance and attach to the front. Attach the included valance clips onto the headrail and slide the valance onto the clips.
  9. Test your new blinds. Use the pull cord to slowly raise and lower your blinds, and tilt your slats by either adjusting the tilt cord or rotating the wand.
